Getting back on track, things have been a bit slow this week. But never fear! Let’s prepare for the next few months to come by looking at upcoming fall anime, constantly updated.

I was planning on putting this up around next week or so near the end of the month, but with a camping trip coming up next week taking up almost a bit more than half of my week, I’ll just leave this here. If you don’t like it, treat it as educational post fodder! Plus, I wanted to post. Moving onwards.

Calendar:

Now available at Random Curiosity. Was too late, so enjoy.

Short Thoughts/Recommendations (blue for self-noted picks for next season):

Battle Spirits Heroes: So that was what the Yu-Gi-Oh ripoff was called. If you’re interested in the original Battle Spirits, then this is for you, I guess.
Busou Shinki Moon Angel: The cover image looks interesting. Based on Konami’s line of figures, and being released in the PSN, should be an interesting 3-5 minutes of your time if you like these short clips and their line of figures.
Digimon Super-Long-Name-I-Don’t-Care-For-Anymore: What is this
Cross Fight B-Daman: I don’t even how are these still coming out
Hunter x Hunter: A series still going strong back in the days of Flame of Recca, Black Cat, and the such. At least, those were what I read it along with back in the days. A remake would be a nice way to freshen things up as the manga experienced several pauses due to the author. A good watch if you followed the manga/series, and/or up for another go in the shounen series.
Chihayafuru: Based on an award winning manga. A girl dreaming about being a fashion designer like her sister. Guess I’ll expect some nice posts from Yi he- ah, it’s about her newfound interest in karuta (a traditional Japanese card game). Could be interesting and listed under drama + sports? You might have the chance to learn about Ura-garuta, a type of cards consisting of Japanese poetry (hyakunin isshu). If it presents solid visuals and beautiful poems, might be a grabber for some.
Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai: A delinquent makes friends with a girl without any friends and form a friends club. Possibly dealing with friendship/personal issues? EmperorJ from Lower Mid Table said he’ll make some posts about this, possibly relating it to his current issues he’s facing. Could be interesting with all the characters having different issues coping with each other, but might flop if too much forced comedy is used, judging from the way the manga goes.
Mobile Suit Gundam AGE: I haven’t been following the Gundam series closely since a few years back, but fans of the Gundam series might love this as well, and also one for me to look into.
Hidamari Sketch x SP (special) + potential fourth season shortly soon: Had the experience of subbing a few specials back then, and it was alright. A cute comedy slice-of-life show, which I’m sure some will be glad to see more specials and also the following season.
Un-Go: Some of the FMA staff come back together for Un-Go, a mystery solving series based on the Aoi Bungaku series. Airing in the noitaminA block, which might give the impression that one can expect good things from this show. I’m a bit interested in the soling future mysteries aspect myself.
Guilty Crown: Another noitaminA block show, with work from Tetsur? Araki, the director of the Death Note animated series, to boot. A mecha series in which the main character can use “the power of the kings” to fight against an organization which is controlling Japan. Sounds oddly familiar… with the music and designs from Supercell and redjuice, should be something to look forward to and keep an eye out for.
Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon: Not much info on this. Sunrise. A parallel world clashes with its original world. Students fight to save Japan. Rumors say that it might have some Infinite Stratos/Code Geass vibes from it, but who knows. Some nice voice actors though.
Persona 4 the Animation: My fanboyism wants to bias this impression so badly. Based on the JRPG PS2 game, which was a great game for the PS2. Using the same voice actors, I believe? With a solid OP/ED already, it has won me over. Several teenagers use their newfound powers called “Persona” to investigate a mysterious series of murders in the town of Inaba. Not going to say anything about the anime, since although the game was solid, it might not deliver. Definitely should be better than Persona: Trinity Soul though.
Shinryaku!? Ika Musume: Your dose of comedy/HNGHHHH for the autumn? A cute squid girl and her antics. I want Mini Ika Musume again.
Fate/Zero: The studios of Darker than Black/Kara no Kyoukai/other great works bring you this Type-Moon novel adaption I am really hyped up for. Nothing gives the feeling that this might somehow flop so far. Along the timeline of the popular Fate Stay Night series. Good story and action incoming. Carnival Phantasm was pretty good too!
Working’!!: Seriously, what is with the super weird punctuation these days?! A sequel to the Working!! anime series, which was decent. Another comedy, slice of life series one can find enjoyable and to look forward to the next season.
Shakugan no Shana III (Final): So…many…sequels… Well, not really. After the many series/OVAs, J.C. Staff gives the closing curtains of the action-packed Shakugan no Shana series. More Rie Kugumiya goodness, right Glo? I’ll probably give it a glance over only though, I’ve seen enough already. What do you mean, enough? Urusai, urusai, urusai!
Ben-To: “Sato Yo is a high school boy who likes SEGA games. One day, he enters a grocery store to buy some food for dinner. When he tries to take a bento box, he loses consciousness. He comes around to find all the bento sold out. He notices there is a war game going on at grocery stores and players called “Wolves” compete for the half-priced bento. Yarizui Sen, the leader of the Half-Pricer Club, forces Yo to join the club and he enters the bento war.” …SOUNDS LIKE MY KIND OF ASIAN, CRAZY FOR CHEAPNESS LIFE. -sign of approval-. Based on the gag series. What a gag.
Maken-Ki!: Based on the manga series, which I read a few chapters of, which was also ok. Ecchi and magic powers, ahoy. Fans of the manga, your prayers have been answered? As for me, I have my Mx0 already.
Kimi to Boku.: Shounen. Drama. Slice of life. J.C. Staff. My gut tells me there are good vibes from this. A transfer student joins a Japanese school and stumbles into a circle of close friends, joining their life of adolescence.
Fujilog 2nd Season: More on a 33 year old NEET life. Dear NEETs, do you watch any anime on a fellow NEET? No really, I’m actually curious.
Mashiro-Iro Symphony: Adaptation on an adult romance novel. So, ecchi and harem ensues, right? The character designs seem good, though.
Last Exile: Ginryoku no Fam: A pilot and her navigator navigate their vanship through the peaceful skies of the Last Exile world. Haven’t watched Last Exile yet, but the visuals and opinions are impressive. And there’s Gonzo.
Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle: My sleep deprivation can’t take this any more. A smart kid in “Root Academy” becomes a candidate for “Phi Brain” to solve an “unsolvable puzzle”. Really. Really? The puns. And staff from Yu-Gi-Oh and Sailor Moon. But I see the words “original”, “Jun Fukuyama”, and “Miyano Mamoru”, so hmm. And some puzzles can be fun too, sometimes. Definitely bloggable. And upon closer inspection, Junichi Satou, the director of Aria, Ikoku, and other good series.
Tamayura ~hitotose~: Ha ha, MyAnimeList. “The story takes place in Seto Inland Sea and is about a girl who likes taking pictures.” Apparently it has an OVA out now, I should watch that. Also a Junichi Satou work, but even people with interest in photography and moe might not find this series redeeming. Prove us wrong with good visuals and good character flow!
Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi: Boys love. Sorry, I have to be biased towards this.
Lupin III: Haven’t watched the Lupin series, but heard it’s really good? Possibly worth a watching over. No details besides the fact that it’s coming out in autumn, though.
Bakuman 2: Again, didn’t follow the Bakuman series much, but fans of the manga and first series should find this interesting. Also, I got a class that uses Bakuman as reference material coming up this year, so maybe.
Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!!: Adult romance novel based. VN to anime justice, ho!
Mirai Nikki: Ah, now this I hope will be good. The manga series was great. An action/supernatural/mystery/horror series which I highlighted in one of my previous posts. The voice actors aren’t that great though, but perhaps they will deliver once we see them in action. But the studio doesn’t seem to fit right for the job either.

And that wraps up my two cents/accumulation of resources on everything regarding the next season. Drop a comment for any more resources/your posts which you think I should add to the list, or for any mistakes you want to point out. We’ll return to your regular programming shortly!
