intermissions: nostalgia drive
6Inspired by Usagi Drop (episode 10, specifically) and a flux of related posts. I was reluctant to sharing my stories at first, but reading other bloggers’ stories inspired me to finish up a post I had in mind a while ago for this week’s intermissions.
Warming up with Usagi Drop
18As I finish watching Usagi Drop, part of me feels unsatisfied. Certainly, the anime had a good run. They chose a fitting point to end, right before the time skip in the manga occurs, with Rin’s teeth finally starting to fall out. Reading the manga, the ending can be quite controversial, which is why I’m happy they chose this point to end it, instead of possibly rushing to a time skip and a rushed ending. Rin stays cute, Daikichi stays a fatherly figure, we’re all happy.
The door to Himari’s psyche
25Usually when I pass out a Mawaru post, I hesitate and take quite a while to make the actual post, which was why this post was very delayed. I’m sorry. But along with the post comes with some research and insight into the episodes, which we shall explore today.
One may think that all perspectives have been explored in episode 9 of Mawaru Penguindrum, but I beg to differ, as there is always a single point to expand from. And finally, the psychology classes I have taken can prove their worth.
The story starts of with a da capo, returning to the beginning of the series, instead now we see Himari’s viewpoint. Nothing really interesting seen here (unless the boy with the hat becomes part of the story as well), and that she disappears due to chasing the penguins.
And then, we descend down to the depths of Himari’s mind.
