intermissions: lacune des temps

16

Apparently, Ratemyprofessor.com says that this is what my face will look like after the midterm.

Yes, it is time for a hiatus. No, I’m not throwing in the towel so early.

  • Studying for an econ professor who supposedly gives killer midterms to scale the grade average to around 60-70%. Yikes.
  • At the same time, prevent burnout from trying to multi-manage and multi-task.
  • I’ll still keep up with anime when I get the time, so I’ll catch up, don’t worry.
  • Free time is always good. Although 80% will be converted to study time. And yes, probably slacking off a bit to comment as well…
  • Be back on October 8th.

For the past few months back, life has been nothing but work, work, and more work. My life got desensitized and I became less emotional to a lot of things, especially anime. Rarely crying and laughing through even the funniest and saddest of anime, I lost my “suteki-vision”, positive aspect on life, so to say. And then I watched Nichijou.

part of me hopes for a second season.

Didn’t really tie up all the loose ends, but great ending. Thanks for all the laughs and the motivation, Nichijou. KyoAni strikes again. Cured my minor burnout this week. Sorry for a late and short intermissions this week! You will be missed, Nichijou. Too bad there’s no more episodes next week, guess there’s really only Mawaru/Idolmaster left now.

How cruel fate is, for each character almost seems to be bound and trapped by past memories, which now haunt them in the present. And in last week’s episode, we explore some of Kanba’s troubles, which stem from his past relationships. The first half (or three-quarters) of the episode seem to drag on for quite a bit, but it’s the last part we look at that becomes interesting. Like Himari, Kanba also dives right into the recesses of his psyche, but we’ve covered bits and pieces of psychology already. Instead, we turn to the wonders of Antonin Dvovak’s 9th symphony.
