Autumn Potpourri 2011 (last updated 9/20/11)
36Getting back on track, things have been a bit slow this week. But never fear! Let’s prepare for the next few months to come by looking at upcoming fall anime, constantly updated.
short intermissions: highlights, future
8Taking a short break from my planned Friday/weekend posts to gear up for midterms, tests and finals on the same week. This intensive course is driving me mad, but it feels like I can smell and touch the soothing petals. That, and honestly Sengoku Rance is becoming so addicting to me. Didn’t even know it was a H-game at first, but the gameplay is pretty nice.
A few notes:
- 5camp’s post on the state of anime blogging was a nice read. I really agree that AnimeNano should be fixed or a new alternative should rise up to take its place. Alas, I cannot program my way out of a paper bag. Even when supposedly wanting to become a computer science major in the past. Screw you, past self.
- Remember when I episodically blogged? At least I didn’t until someone reminded me whether I should be doing it again. Most likely, if I will, it’ll be in the fall, so I don’t awkwardly jump in with a episode 20 post of the anime currently airing. If I do, I promise to be more interesting or I will resign to the fact that I have no personality ok
- That Sanae picture was awesome when I first saw it on YouTube, so I had to find it out and advertise on its glory more.

Usagi Drop: Walking alongside parenthood
4Usagi Drop is trying its best to win me over and be one of the best shows I’ve seen this season of its genre. Although I’ve never really delved into the world of josei anime before, this show really gives off good vibes and a nice first impression. Now without all the bias: Usagi Drop is a show with light, heart-warming visuals, a beautiful soundtrack, and a story and cast one might be able to relate to in the future. Might contain minor spoilers from episodes 1-5.
Fates, Diaries and Penguindrums
4After seeing Yi’s post on Listless Ink, I decided to try watching Mawaru Penguindrum. Even though those cute penguins tempted me a bit to watch it in the beginning, I became more interested in its underlying themes. Of course, who can forget Survival Strategy (Seizon Senryakuuuuuuu!). Not to mention that this show has some of the most random scenes I’ve ever seen. In a good way. And this show is supposedly only a comedy?!
