Actually I have nothing against your blog
I love every bit and piece. Each blog is unique in its own way. All I can say is: Keep doing what you always do~!! Do your best and never falter~!!^_^
Step in the right direction, but I don’t think that will revive the Anime Blogosphere. Like RyanA said, bloggers need to learn how to use their blogs and blog more than turning to closed communities like Twitter which is not even part of the anime community.
[blockquote]So like I said, we don’t need to worry about the content, just post anything… otherwise the community will fully migrate back to forums and/or other closed services*.[/blockquote]
Honest thought: There’s a Secret Santa review thing going around, why not do something similar for blog critiques? If you can run with it Seinime, go for it My suggestion is to have 5-7 categories of review, and require one-two sentences on each category… the blogs will know by way of trackbacks
Well for starters, your header/banner looks awkward no matter how many times I look @ it =9.
Sadly, most of my complaints are towards the blogging community in general rather than anything, like the fact half of all of them post about the same few series, or the lacking of detail, in-depth analysis, or that few posts have introduction paragraphs that proper writing normally has…
[Yeah I know, noob is talking too much right? Soz]
and OEG makes 10% sense, with 90% bullying powered by conceitedness. Well I guess 10% is better than none, especially if they could spark a revolution for the aniblogosphere.
I think it would be good for as many bloggers as possible to give real feedback to different blogs.
Can’t say I’ve been around long enough to do very much myself though.
It’s hard for many to give reviews if they are new to your blog; only the older readers who has been here and read what you have done would be able to give you constructive criticism. The most a newer reader can comment on your blog is probably the first impressions (which I can’t see anything wrong the first time I came here many months ago).
Honestly, I can say that your blog is good. Most of the time the posts are short, but straight to the point. But that’s your way of writing. As long as your readers are happy, and you are happy then everything’s fair! ^^
p/s: I didn’t catch what Ryan A meant. Can someone clarify? Thanks a million! ^^
Secret Santa reviewing: blogger is assigned a series they review after watching.
Secret Santa blog critiquing: blogger is assigned a blog they critique, but you don’t know who is critiquing your blog until posted… hopefully notified via trackback (since that is the proper way to do it).
I posted about this, but then immediately regretted it afterwards. A reader obviously likes a blog they keep coming back to, but a person who would give constructive criticism wouldn’t visit the blog in the first place. What a dilemma. D:
I was thinking of “everybody makes a post critiquing three blogs,” but then I realized that it would be 1) Dannychoo sucks, 2) Sankaku Complex sucks, and 3) Mikotoism sucks all across the board. Or that it would just turn into something of a flame war. Or nobody would notice my meager existence in the blogosphere and go on with their daily lives. Something like that.
On topic:
The background overlaps with the tagline at the top unless I use a huge resolution. it looks like “Why wouldn’t you try your besy last gift…”
Finally went wild and updated my old buggy browser and wow, suddenly this site looks a hell of a lot nicer.
I don’t think the Secret Santa blogging thing would work. What if you were assigned to a blog you absolutely hated? Or a blog you absolutely loved, which is possibly even worse. Or if the person assigned to your own blog was lazy and couldn’t be arsed doing any proper reviewing. I still think an OEG styled blog concentrating on critique rather that otaku-wannabe bashing is the ideal way. That said, I’d still join the secret santa thing if someone started it to see if I was proved wrong.
OK, critique time:
Your season previews are godly, one of the best in the blogsphere. You’ve done too much filler posts recently although I’m sure you know that already. Oh, and clean up your blogroll. There’s a lot of dead blogs in there
Honestly I don’t really know what else you can do…you’ve made this blog yours and are doing just so good. The only thing I’d like is more posts…but that’s about it; I know it’s a busy time of the year.
Your blog sucks. It’s such a piece of crap, that I don’t even know why you continue it. Sometimes, I wish that the government would come and abolish you-
I actually can’t think of anything bad or even critiquing to say about your blog. God knows it’s better than mine. Honestly, critiquing a blog doesn’t make sense to me, because a blog is meant to be unique to the reader.
I don’t mean to use your comment box to say this, but this is a matter of life and death for my anime-blogging career and my following @ finallyanime.com Please don’t delete this comment.
Hey, it’s me FaS, from Finally Anime. I had to use a different name because MY WEBHOST SHUT ME DOWN!!!!! They fucking shut me down!!! Apparently I’ve been taking too much of their bandwidth/processes. This is what they said:
“As you probably aware, here at Just Host we proactively monitor all our servers
to ensure that our clients websites are loading as fast as possible at all
times. During this routine monitoring we
have found that your account is utilizing an excessive amount of system
resources, and we have been forced to suspend your site as per our terms and
conditions ‘10% CPU Policy’
For your reference, here is a copy of your usage report:
Top Process %CPU 82.0 [php]
Top Process %CPU 72.0 [php]
Top Process %CPU 54.0 /usr/bin/php /home/finally1/public_html/index.php
Just Host offer unlimited hosting space and unlimited bandwidth, but as per our
terms we will suspend any website which exceeds our 10% CPU policy. We hope that
you understand our position in
ensuring that we provide the best possible service. In order to continue to
provide this high quality service, you will need to upgrade to a dedicated
server, which will give you an abundance of
additional resources and speed up your website.”
Get this, they didn’t even let me get my material!!! This is what I sent them:
You know, I don’t get irritated very much, but why would you do such a thing like this without any warning. I’ve been a loyal customer and you shut down my site without ANY warning?! Like I’ve worked SO hard on my site and you do me like that. I almost want to create a lawsuit. I am not made of money and simply cannot afford that. That’s just Ludacris. 143 a month????? If you would please put my website back on for at least a day or two or even half a week I’ll pay extra, I don’t care, but you don’t seem to understand that I need to let my audience know what’s going on…however you just cut me off…I apologize in advance for the flaming email, but you’re destroying everything I worked so hard for….all the important anime directories will now have dead links….and worse, important other anime bloggers. You’re killing me literally. As someone in need, ID VERY much appreciate if you put it back up for at least 2-3 days. You never even warned me. HOW was I supposed to know this??? Really?? At any rate, I eagerly await your reply.
Anyways, to make a long story short, if you could make a short post that tells people Just.Host.com SUCKS and not to use them and that finallyanime.com is shutdown, I’d appreciate it.
Thanks for being a cool fellow blogger.
*For now, I’ll be posting @ ganbatte.kokidokom.net/*
I won’t do that since the reports say otherwise…and I plan on using that host sometime…what were you using the hosting for anyways? Also, welcome to the team.
Hey, Se., sorry for the long-ass post. In short, if you haven’t already read, these hoes took down my site because it was taking up too many resources. Beats me. Anyways, I’ll see you. And I still think your blog is fine just the way it is. I just want more posts
I just decided I’d do automated backups so I got the backup thing figured out now. I just need to assure this won’t happen again. Baka-Raptor did me a gigantic favor and skimmed through a bit of their policy, so I’m trying to get on it
I actually rather like the looks of this blog. (hate that character… but it looks good XD) I’ve enjoyed what little I’ve read as well, i’m still fairly new to the aniblogosphere.
All I can say is: DESU~!!
Actually I have nothing against your blog

First impressions are good and unbiased. =D
Blog whoring again? Honestly…
Your RSS button is behind the pages bar at the top. You should fix that. That’s about it, really.
sneaky sneaky >_>

Other than that, needs more electromeister.
Next season. Also can’t find PSD so I failed.
Nice pun^^
No, you have a good blog. Really. That’s pretty it.
As I see many comments complain about the theme, and so far it’s my fault of laziness.. My apologises. I will try to finish your theme asap!
Finally went wild and updated my old buggy browser and wow, suddenly this site looks a hell of a lot nicer.

Best thing is to send them a complaint message or at least try and get a backup. Always backup

Why would you want criticism? nothing wrong with your blog .. hmm maybe change the banner :3
I bet you didn’t get yourself Seinime’d.
