1. Not watching Darker than Black’s first season. This show is awesome. I think I was just an anime noob when the first season was airing, or the fact that it was overshadowed by other shows, I heard. No, just remembered I was helping to time Airantou for a fansub group and failing. No wonder.
2. Not really having a clue what is going on.
3. That Hei loses his powers in only the second episode which I start watching it. Or what does the star fading away mean anyway?
I lol’d at hobo Hei “searching” for the “meteor core” from Suou, if you know what I mean.
Must find some time to squeeze in the first season, especially when the Bluray releases are coming out.
By the way, 11eyes is too f’ed up for me to blog. Or at least to find out episodically, if you’re wondering why I haven’t posted up 11eyes fanservice shots already.

1) I agree that DtB is awesome and the mystery in it must be kept intact. I’ll omit a detail or two to not spoil you.
2) Nobody does, ever. Most of the supernatural remains unexplained: it’s that kind of story.
3) We don’t yet know what a star fading means: usually the stars of the fake sky fall, which means the death of a contractor. Fade might mean, of course, that his powers were sealed. Every contractor has his own star.
On why there most likely will be a plot device sealing his powers, watch season 1. It’s a turn-point.
You mean this, by searching the meteor core?
I had attached an image with HTML code in the end of the former comment, but guess in this blog it’s disabled. This:

Lol, what’s the age limit for lolis? She’s 13 I think. And I shall watch.
Some old sage said: “If it looks like a loli, it is a loli, regardless of age”.
You shall enjoy loli, even if legal.
It is indeed badass. I have reviews of season 1, but I fear they are spoileriffic.
Haven’t watched season 1 of DtB either… And no idea what’s going on.
Hmm, I can’t remember if the fading star represent power being sealed or not. It’s been two years since I’ve last watch the first season, but its definitely not death. If the star falls then it means the contractor died.
I also really need to re-watch the first season because I’m forgetting things..
I didn’t watch the first show either so I’m putting this one on hold until after I’ve seen the first season.
Wow, so many people that haven’t seen the first season yet. I’m so envious that you have the option of seeing it for the first time.
Awesome show, awesome fights. Hei rocks.
Don’t read anything on season 1. Just watch it, preferably in 2 to 10 sittings and batches; episodes are naturally paired. Anyhow. It’s good stuff.
Yes, go watch season 1. All I can say about it is that it’s great. And after finishing S1, you might as well start reading Shikkoku no Hana.
And yeah, this is the first time I saw a star fade. I don’t really know what it means for Hei yet, but then again, he’s not exactly a regular contractor. Plus, even if he does lose his powers, he can still deal with enemy contractors.
Darker than Black S1 starts out episodic before having it all come together. 3 episodes per sitting is strongly recommended. A very solid action series.
As for this season, I miss Yin already. Teaser of Yin’s fate when the Code Geass’s Gefjun Disturber Field reappears leaves me empty inside. But there’s Suou… with that huge rifle. So far, Yin > Suou
I like the first season of this too, i always compared Darker than black to Heros, lol @ hobo hei comment.
Yesh i agree i miss Yin too D:
I definitely suggest watching season 1 as well. It’s absolutely fantastic. Plus, Hei is looking ROUGH this season, and his descent into this alcoholic/ragged looking guy is much more powerful when you see how he is for all of series 1.
Traditionally, though – the star falling signifies a contractor’s “death”. I think there was a story in season one about a contractor losing her powers, but I don’t recall if her star FELL, I think it just darkened. So, I’m VERY interested to see what happens.
Luckily for us, Hei is a bamf with or without his powers. =)
