Even Lucy thinks the animation sucks. Above picture says it all.
Here I have an anime that would have totally rocked this season, since the manga wasn’t that bad and did quite well. It majorly pissed me off when I saw the first episode; A-1 Pictures and Satelight managed to screw it up already.
Why, you may ask? Here I will list the reasons so you can save the half an hour wasted on your life watching this.
1. Unfit voice acting EVERYWHERE.
Natsu – If he’s not supposed to be the cool, calm headed character, don’t give him that kind of a voice. I was expecting more of a comedy purpose type of voice that gets serious when it wants to (or maybe I’ve been hearing Luffy too much). Where’s Mayumi Tanaka where you need her, or at least another voice actor? Save that kind of voice for Grey, please.
Happy – Dear gosh I did not also need an overly cute voice. Rie Kugimiya can do Taiga/Shana, so leave it at that. Happy’s voice is annoying me more than sounding like a cute cat. And here I thought Kuroko didn’t have a match in terms of annoying voices. So glad I went over it again without the voicing.
Lucy – Totally wasn’t expecting Aya Hirano to do a Haruhi voice, since it doesn’t match Lucy at all. Do not want. More Haruhi soundalikes. Go away please.
Other characters haven’t appeared yet but certainly will have crappy voices as well or miraculously redeeming voices. But that fails as well because YOU USE GOOD VOICES FOR MAIN CHARACTERS STUPID.
2. The animation is terrible.
- Since when did we have stupid magic signs every time you use a move? It might look cool and all, but the sound effects and changing color for different moves aren’t cutting it, you know.
- Bad animation example. Still image like, Aquarius is freaking floating there, and Happy is a zombie with no pupils. Ugh.
- Wait, haven’t I heard/seen this from somewhere before? “Katon! Karyuu Endan no Jutsu!” =\
- Here is what you do. Go in Paint, erase part of the background, add some spunky filtering on, and there you go! Typical magic from Fairy Tail villains. I guess they save the not so bad ones for the main characters.
- Looks like a freaking animated GIF. Oh wait, maybe it is! Draw stars properly.
- Tenka Seiha pretty much says it all about the animation.
3. Wait, I forgot. Never mind. Oh well, not that I’d spend more wasted time remembering and ranting on again. Actually, I sort of merged it into 2, I think.
I restrained myself by keeping the CRUISE CONTROLLING CAPS LOCK to a limit and not going FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF- each time I rewatched it.
So please, read the manga because it is way cooler. Save yourself the time. Fairy Tail proved to be a huge disappointment. Diehard Fairy Tail/One Piece fans who need something to fill, by all means, I won’t stop you. If it does get better though (the chances of that happening are the chances that some Japanese would stop being perverts) then I will reconsider.
For now, 1/10 just because it is animated. There goes any hope/expectations I had before watching it. Hype is fail.
Blasphemy! Not about the show, the show looks crappy as you said, but Blasphemy for slandering the name of Rie Kugimiya!…..okay I don’t really care.
Overall this show looks dumb, and I’m glad I didn’t pick it up.
There are a lot of things I can tolerate in an anime, but usually it needs to at least have decent voice acting and animation. Those are the basics.
I gotta admit, I hated the animation. A lot. And yeah, the voice acting was also bad.
I just can’t find any reason to continue watching this…

damn. I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to continue reading the manga and rely on the animation. shit… I guess I just have to do both.
I spent 15 min (i guess) with the first episode of this anime, before closing the player and deleting this… errr… thing. Like with the rest of the anime from the fall season, except Darker Than Black 2. Something is not working in Japan anymore. Maybe creativity?
I dont see how this is different from other kiddy shows like One Piece, Rave, HunterX, or whatever the shonen of the day is. Same old, same quality, everything. Yet One Piece has millions upon millions of knee-jerker fanboys, and this show is somehow low quality ? Hmm, strange, that.
Eh, another show I’ll never watch.
Do tell me if the animation reaches absolute putrid levels though, then I might have something to laugh at =P
you people no enjoy nothing , i liked the voice of aya hirano , the design character was good , the anime is like the manga , what’s wrong , what idiot say the only good anime of this season was darker than black , for me 15 new animes were good , and i liked this episode i don’t watch anymore blogs of people who don’t enjoy nothing
andrei is wrong , japan have more creativity than the cliched hollywood or the vomiting mexican telenovelas who only copy the telenovelas from argentina or colombia

That “Save me!” face is hella funny. I read part of the manga, but haven’t bothered to watch the first episode yet. Now my hopes are lowered.
manga is always better when it comes to shounen. I wonder if it is some sort of curse that they had

Isn’t Fairy Tale’s animation pretty much the exact same as One Piece’s?

Hmm, I’m kinda glad that I didn’t decide to check it out.
Normally I won’t check the shounen manga adaptation anime because somehow I knew that they won’t be able to give the feel of the anime. Dragon Ball Z kinda work for me though, not sure why.
