Analysis:

So in this episode, the first part consists of another conversation-later-turned-argument with Mayoi and Araragi, as usual. Apparently we learn that there’s a “first touch” as opposed to a “first kiss” being more important, as well as Mayoi being more developed than her classmates but utterly fails at tongue twisting.

The interesting part is when Senjougahara walks in and reveals everything about Mayoi and what she really is. This is where you get mindblown. Mayoi was actually a wandering spirit, wandering for 10 years to find her mother that she couldn’t recognize any more. Her parents got into a fight and she started to forget what she looked like, so she embarked on a journey to find her again. However, while she was crossing the road, a rampant car struck her even though the “walk” sign was on. Such a poor fate…and still she tries to find her home, although she is now a shell of her former self. Loved Panther’s post on how they used perspectives to show that Senjougahara couldn’t see her, while Araragi did. Senjougahara didn’t admit it because she didn’t want to think she lost it, right after she got cured of the crab. It seems that Mayoi has the ability of getting everyone lost and to draw people like Araragi in, since he didn’t want to go home. Senjougahara finally shows Araragi where Mayoi lived once before, thanks to Oshino’s advice, and we have a ;_; scene where she finally returns back to her true home. Senjougahara x Araragi is also taking a step forward. Senjougahara fascination.

And thus the Mayoi arc brings to a close. Starting to like this anime back again after this episode and how well they presented it. Watch out for a wandering Mayoi though!
